Over 60% of Americans are overweight to obese due to eating more calories than they need to maintain a healthy weight. One reason is due to unconscious eating. Many Americans are not mindful of what they eat. The United States is an obseocentric society promoting over eating.

Most people do not know how much they are eating nor how many calories they are eating. Americans eat because they are encouraged to eat not because they need to eat.

Most people need between 1,700 and 2,500 calories per day to maintain a healthy weight. Overweight Americans eat an average of 3,500 calories per day.

The average of 1,700 and 2,500 is 2,100. Dividing the average by 3 meals per day equals 700 calories per meal.

700caloriemeals.com takes a closer look at what makes up a 700 calorie meal and features new  breakfasts, lunches, and dinners not covered by the books. Reducing calories from 1,000 or more per meal to 700 per meal doesn’t mean eating less. In many cases, you eat more food not less.
